Had anyone used Hemp Oil or CBD Oil for BPH or sleep issues?

Wondering if anyone reading this has used Hemp Oil or CBD Oil for BPH issues such as pain, or sleep disorders. Have been reading many positive comments about these products but was wondering if anyone on this forum has any firsthand experience with them.

I tried one bottle - (approx 28 days worth), taking the recommended dosage each day before bed and first thing in the AM. Unfortunately, I did not notice any difference. There are dozens of companies that sell this product with a vast range of prices, but I tried only the one that had been recommended by a neighbor. As such, my experience is nothing to base a decision upon, but my neighbor believes it gives him relief from back pain.

I have been taking CBD oil for about six months. It has helped with back and joint pain but has done nothing for my insomnia.

I'd be very interesting if CBD oil or hemp oil can help in any way with BPH or prostatitis symptoms.

I know someone who has joint pain and is helped very much with CBD oil. I don't know if the mechanism is that it alleviates inflammation, but if that is the case then it seems plausible it can help with inflammation of the prostate as well.

I have been taking Serrapeptase. When I stay on it, my knees feel better. Also, my PSA went from around 11 to around 5 over 9 months, and I was taking Serrapeptase for about 4 months. I don't know if there is a connection.

I'm going to follow this thread, hoping it will provide helpful information.

      Michael,

I will add another post here soon. I just began to take CBD oil after my original post. Two nights ago only 1 drop, then last night 2 drops. Tonight, 3 drops. This is an experiment for me to see if it helps my sleep. So far I believe I am feeling slightly more calm while sleeping have had a couple of longer sleep segments. This may be my imagination, but lets see what happens. I am adding the drops to some milk just before going to bed when I take some sleep meds including melatonin. Whenever I start on a new med I never take the "normal" dosage. I start with the smallest dosage possible then increase just to be careful.

What instruction comes with your CBD. Mine (Celtic Wind) says to put the drops under the tongue and leave for at least ten minutes. The instruction is to take 0.7ml which is one squeeze of the dropper.

I feel that it must get as diluted as a homeopathic medication by putting in milk.

It has not helped my sleep after six months but I don't feel so annoyed when I waken after two hours and have difficulty in getting back to sleep 😃

I find that 200 mg 5-HTP and 10 mg melatonin help with sleep

Of course, BPH means getting up to pee 1x to 5x each night 😦

I don't see CBD as offering hope for BPH and LUTS. If it was beneficial, we would have heard of it by now, given there are probably 30,000,000 men in the US alone suffering from BPD/LUTS

      *BPH

not BPD (although that is bad enough but that's for another forum)

There is no reason that CBD could reduce your prostate size.

30,000.000 ? no wonder there are so many con artists offering treatments.

      Derek,

Yes, the instructions say to put the oil under the tongue, but I have read that just putting it in liquid and drinking it works the same, just takes longer. I am being careful in my experiment - up to 3 drops last night. I fell slightly more relaxed at night, so maybe it's working a bit, but this amount is very small. The oil is fairly expensive - it costs about $1 for one recommended dosage of any of the forms.

      Michael,

I was hoping it would help with my insomnia caused by my years of BPH issues. I can get to sleep (after several attempts to empty my bladder) but I just can't seem to stay asleep for more than about an hour and 15 min to an hour and a half, so I am up frequently at night. I had a bipolar TURP four months ago, and my flow is much improved, but I was surprised that this improvement has had no effect on my sleep. It doesn't seem that anything I take to help me stay asleep longer is helping. I will continue with the CBD oil experiment and if it doesn't help, I will not get more.

Miriam who posts here on Fluoroquinolones and Cipro dangers puts it in a milky chocolate drink for her husband and it works for him.

      Derek,

I have also had some good information from Miriam. A year and a half ago I took Cipro and have been having issues ever since. My energy level went down and it's possible that this also made the insomnia worse. I am slowly recovering from the Cipro. My wife had a reaction to Septra many years ago and it took her three years to get her energy back. Miriam thinks the antibiotics effect the cell mitochondria. Last year my exercise routine was off by 15%, but now I have cut that in half and continue to improve slowly.

It has given me a form of neuropathy in my lower left leg an foot after tendonitis following the three times I briefly took it. . That affected my gait and gave me back pain. The insomnia I had to a degree prior to then though at that time the sleep disturbance was mostly due to my prostate symptoms but that was basically cured by my 2013 laser procedure. I cannot definitely pinpoint any other Cipro symptoms.

Since taking CBD my back has greatly improved as has pain in the joint of a finger I broke and in another with trigger finger.

My wife took CBD for about a month but did not find it helped her in any way.

So far I am not noticing any improvement from the CBD but I am only up to 3 drops now. Perhaps when my dosage improves it will help my sleep situation. If not, I won't be buying anymore.

I tried CBD oil over several weeks building up from relatively low to high doses for sleep/anxiety but unfortunately didn't notice any improvement.
