Had blood tests and ECG’s but still feel like something is wrong with heart.

I have suffered from health anxiety very badly for the last year, I am on 50mg of setraline and see a therapist weekly, I am trying my hardest to be positive but it is extremely difficult.

For the last week or so I haven’t felt right at all, I’ve been getting chest pains, pain in my back, pain in my jaw and arm, chest tightness and lightheadedness, I’ve been to the hospital twice in the last week, had 2 ecgs and a set of blood tests which have all come back normal, so why do I STILL feel like something is wrong? My chest feels very tight and my arm is hurting.. is it possible there is a problem with my heart that the doctors haven’t noticed? I am a 20 year old female who gave up smoking 6 months ago after smoking for 7 years, I work at McDonald’s so my diet isn’t very good but I am not overweight at all.

I am on the same boat. I’ve been dealing with chest, jaw, back, and left arm pain for months now. Blood tests, EKGs, Echos, Holters, you name it, I got it, and it all came up normal. I will be getting an angiogram in two weeks, but I am very worried.

I hope you figure out what is going on with you soon. I would consider getting an angiogram to be on the safe side. If that’s normal, then check out blood pressure problems or thyroid problems. Anxiety can cause similar symptoms too.

    Dear Jade,

Does your chest pain has any relation with exertion? Chest pain due to angina is unlikely at 20 years. But your smoking history is worrisome. If you want to be sure, get a stress test (Treadmill test) to rule out cardiac etiology of chest pain. Cheers
