Hi I’ve had an eye infection for over 3 months now I’ve been to the doctor and been treated for bacterial conjunctivitis, with ointment, then I was told to take no medicine for 6 weeks after that didn’t work as it could be viral conjunctivitis, then I was treated for blepharitis with a blephisol lotion and finally I’ve been treated for allergic conjunctivitis with antihistamines and a antihistamines eye drop however none of these have worked just wondering if anyone has a solution?

Hello i had an eye infection but mine was in both eyes. Tried all the drops and cream like you but none of them worked. I then had an appointment at the eye clinic and was given steriod drops . They cleared them almost straight away. When after a month was taken off them and it came back. Put back on them. To cut a long story short they did not know what caused it. Was on waiting list for allergy test but i just went on its own before the test.
Are yours red and watering constantly like mine ? Hope this helps BEV

Have you seen an opthalmologist? It may be giant papillary conjunctivitis which may need steroid eye drops. Do you wear contact lenses?

THATS GOOD NEWS THEN THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU DROPS TO EASE THE PROBLEM. KEEP ON TO THEM AS MINE WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE TOO. COULDNT WEAR MAKEUP AS SO SORE AND WATERY. A VIRAL INFECTION CAN TAKE A LONG TIME TO CLEAR (mine took over a year). THE STERIOD DROPS WORKED SHORT TERM FOR ME.
HOPE THEY SEE YOU SOON.

Warm up a flannel or get one of those warm eye masks and put it over your eyes for 5 minutes twice daily before wiping your lids with the blephisol lotion. You need to get some preservative free lubricant eye drops when your eyes feel dry and burning, so you don't give yourself a corneal abrasion. Something like Systane ultra, hylo forte or liquifilm tears. Just google preservative free eye drops and chose one. You may also want to try eyelergy eye drops but don't put them on at the same time, leave at least half an hour between each one. Good luck and let us know how you get on with the appointment.
