Had laparoscopy on monday

Only 2 days post op and still in lots of pain and discomfort. I struggled with the anastetic and took a long time the wake up. I was in recovery for a couple of hours as body temp and pulse had dropped and ended up having to stay in hospital the night. The surgery stayed to see me but spoke to me still in recovery (think he wanted to get home) I ended up with an hour of surgery draining a huge cyst and taking a biopsy, as well as lots of little cysts. What is the biopsy for? He said he tried to remove the endometriosis tissue but every time he touched it it bleed. I asked him what grade endometriosis I has and I thought he said 4 with I can't see being right think I might of misheard as he said nothing about organs being stuck together and doctor the next day said the notes say it is scattered. How do I no how bad it is? I'm seeing him again in December but don't want to wait, I want to know. He also said something about possible needing more surgery.

    Hi lovey

Don't worry try & bring your appointment earlier or go & speak to your gp who should get a copy of your hospital report.

    Hi

Sending biopsies are normal procedure so don't worry. I had very similar experience on my investigatory op and you will start to feel better soon from op effects. If your endo is small patches but widespread it can be still just as painful as large amounts with fused organs. Even draining the big cyst helps with the pain for now. They did that for me too. Ask for an update either through Gp or asking to be put on cancellation list to see consultant sooner if you worried. Next steps will depend on age and future pregnancy plans. Ask away with questions as I've been through this

      Thank you

It's nice to know biopsy is normal. How do they grade endometriosis and is that important to know the best route of care to take.

I'm 30 yrs old, I have 2 children and wish to have one more. He was talking about going on some hormone thing that will reduce my fertility or something but if it didn't work after 3 months it will be more surgery.

It's so hard to take everything in, and watching everyone around me having babies - it's really hard to be happy and show excitement for them at the moment, even though I no I must. I know I'm lucky that I have 2 children already but it was hard at the time, I was young and couldn't enjoy the pregnancies or when they where tiny.

Look at me ranting on, sorry.
