i was diagnosed at age 28 with LS by 2 different gynecologist. The last gyno did a biopsy of my vagina and the results came back as dermatitis.. I've researched dermatitis and my symptoms don't add up to being dermatitis. i definitely believe its LS. I had it bad for about 7 months then 2 months free. then it came back for a week and clob helped. went away until a week ago. i have it bad again burning, itchy, throbbing pain , white paste coming out. and the anal area is raw. all i have is clobetasol ointment. its helps for a little bit not all day. what kind of doctor or specialist do you go to for LS? in the united states. Ohio.

    Hi Ash,

So sorry to hear of your struggles with LS, it's not fun! Look through this forum and see suggestions from Nancy.K.B that worked for her, maybe you'll find something useful she suggested, like Aloe Gel and or Essential Turmeric Oil by applying it to your vaginal area. I am using Coconut Oil and Aloe and it helped me.

I have seen a Dermatologist who specializes is rare skin conditions and a Female Urologist in California, both have been somewhat helpful. I have researched foods to avoid, things to do to lower my stress level, plus soaps and shampoos to avoid.

I hope this helps, keep in touch!

    Hi Ash,

Sorry to hear of your suffering. Definitely not fun. Some of us on here take a sitz bath in warm water with baking soda in it. If you don't have a sitz bath or don't want one, then try a spray bottle with about 8 o z of spring water ( not tap water) and put one h alf teaspoon to one full teaspoon of baking soda in it. Add a tiny bit ( about 1/8 of teaspoon) to that water, shake it up until it dissolves and spray yourself each time you go to the bathroom. It seems to help alkalinize the skin because most people's urine is acidic. It doesn't sound lie you have dermatitis with what you've described. I'd see another dr. best wishes
