Had Retinal Detachment surgery 2 months ago. Having problems

Posted , 5 users are following.

My problem is blurry vision in that eye, distorted vision, heavy, tired feeling in the eyes makes me very sleepy. Can only go on computer for a few minutes have to stop. hard to watch TV, keep falling asleep because my eyes feel so heavy and tired. Can't do my crafts because things aren't straight. Has anyone had this surgery and what was the outcome? Appreciate any input. Can't get a straight answer from the specialist.

Hmm..might want to get an objective opinion from another doctor. If there is an issue, and I have no clue, doubt the one that did the surgery will say so. Keep us posted.

Though I have no experience myself but I know some people whose surgery for this problem was successful though it takes quite a bit of time to recover; even for the patient of youger age. If the age is more, still it should be OK in due course if surgery was considered suitable for the patient. However recovery does take quite a bit of time. Still I also feel you may consult some other Doc as well.

Thanks for all your comments everyone. I'll give it a chance to get better.

It's only been a little week over 2 months. Maybe it does take longer for someone elderly. I'm praying that's the case. I was a crafter, making and selling greeting cards, now I can't see if things are straight because of the distortion. I don't watch TV during the day, computer only maybe 10 min. or so.  So it doesn't leave much else. Thank God I can drive, that gets me out.

Thanks, for letting me vent. Nice to have this group.

I suggest you download an amsler grid to determine if you have visual distortion.  You might also ask for a visual field test.   if straight lines are ind

eed wavy, this test will pick up on it.     google amsler grid.
