had this weird skin oatch come up about 2 weeks ago went to the doctor about 3 days later got swabbed for hsv because she said it looks like ulcers and it turned out positive. going tk get a second opinion because i went to the doctor again and they tested me for yeast infenction and it was a crazy amount of yeast. coukd i have been misdiagnosed. i have had no fever. no blisters. and it doesnt look like ulcers to me. doesnt itch just was sore to touch. also ive had rhe same sex partner for a long time and he got blood tested and his test was negative image

    hello

from what i have learned, positive swabs are usually pretty accurate.

did they say if it was type 1 or 2?

but ive had 0 symptoms no burning while urinating , no fever symptoms also the spot is gone & didnt scab up.

yea some people have no symptoms at all. some people just have a mild irritation and no other symptoms. everyone is different and the virus is tricky. scabbing doesnt always occur either.

herpes symptoms can differ greatly from person to person, some don't hurt/itch or the spots don't even look like H at all. You said your boyfriend had a blood test. Have you done a blood test yet? I would get one now and another one later for confirmation.

i havent had a blood test done yet im going tuesday . if his was negative idk when i woukdve got it. but that patch does it look like herpes or something else

if exposure to herpes (sexual intercourse) happened recently, the blood test will more than likely be negative as anti bodies usually take 12-16 weeks to show up on blood tests. so don't take the negative blood test as the end all be all. ive read to go with swab results especially if the exposure is recent. but like other user said, you can do blood test now and then another in about 12 weeks (from exposure) for more accurate results!

looks like it could possibly be a mild outbreak.

yeah but thats the thing . the exposure couldnt have been recent because im 7mo pregnant . and the only way it wouldve showed up is through my partner who ive been with since about september . and his test showed up negative so its past the timeline.

when he did blood test was it a full panel std test? with those, hsv usually isnt included unless specifically requested. i would look into that first cause it may not have even been included in the std blood tests.

only other thing i can think of is if you had it a while and it was dormant and maybe pregnancy/hormones caused outbreak? but only thing is, im sure you wouldve given it to him by now if that was the case.

or if he had a recent exposure that would not show up on a hsv blood test yet.

no it wasnt full panel it was just for hsv because thats what i tested for. Thats what i was thinking i wouldve given it to him by now! they said it looked like an ulcer but i havent seen any ulcers that look like my picture & it went away with a little cream. you see it started as him trying to remove a hair from there and then that spot came up. but i felt like i had a yeast infection for a while only because im prone to yeast infection. and i have very sensitive skin & changed soap. & not to mention weve had sex a lottt & still nothing for him

yea the only thing is the positive swab. definitely test again for confirmation, but a positive swab is usually accurate and yeast wouldn't interfere with that result. you may need to be on anti virals around the time you give birth but i'm sure the doctor has mentioned that to you. good luck with everything and with getting a confirmation. if it is correct, Herpes definitely isn't the end of the world.
