Had to miss my post-op x-ray

Posted , 5 users are following.

I was supposed to have my x-ray today (7 weeks post-op) but due to a bad cold and oppressive heat/humidity I didn't feel up to making a train/walk trip to the hospital. They've rescheduled me for Feb 19, but wondering if I should ask my GP to arrange an x-ray next week? I fell again last Monday and still a bit sore... on both sides now. However, that could be aches from the cold, too...

    Hi Belle,

Do they know that you fell?  I think you should have an x-ray asap because if something shifted due to the fall, you need to know how to approach it properly.  Is there another way you can get to where you need to go for the x-ray?

I hope the best for you and hope that cold goes away soon.

    Hugs,

Belle, I agree with Dawn that you should let them know that you fell and are hurting, and that you need an x-ray as soon as possible. Wish you could get some help to get to the hospital so that you wouldn't have to take the train and walk.

Unfortunately, I'm not "old" enough to qualify for free hospital transport and I couldn't afford taxis today. I didn't tell the person who rebooked me because she's admin, not medical staff.

I have a GP about 30 metres from my house and can go there. They don't do x-rays but could refer me.

That is a bummer.  So age takes preference to surgery.  Does not seem fair.

    hi belle,

That is a miserable combination, having a cold and oppressive heat .... Is there a Radiology office closer to you  where your GP can send you?

Or, like said here, call the surgeon's office and explain your situationthat you were too sick to keep your appointmentbut are worried aboutyour hip because you fell-Ask for surgeon's secretary -

Feel better and let us know

    big warm hug

    renee
