Had Urolift. How am I doing?

Just wondering. Had Urolift 2 weeks ago. First few days were painful but beginning to feel a little more normal. My stream has improved and seems to be gradually getting better, BUT...I am still awakening at night about every 2 hours to pee. Is this normal? Will it gradually improve? Could live with getting up twice, but 4 times???

I found self cathing right before bed let me sleep 5-6 hours without getting up.

Also, stop drinking at around 7-8 p.m.

Before the Urolift how much were you retaining? The good thing about cathing is it lets your bladder fully empty, which can help it recover muscle tone after being stretched out for years.

Well, my opinion is it is too early for the full benefits to be revealed. Had a Urolift several years ago and was getting up one (rare) to two/three (usually) times a night with a very rate 4 times. I don't want to rain on your parade but after the lift I saw no difference. And not related to your situation it caused other issues (not severe) that will persist. Would I do it again, no. And from what I have read on this forum the benefits when acquired are not long lasting. With time you could very well see a improvement. Are you on any medication? I am. As William suggested, no to very little fluid intake after 1900. That greatly helps.

    The best of luck.

    william,

It is still early for you. it's clear from the forum that everyone has different results, and everyone heals differently. I had my urolift almost 4 years ago. I had 5 clips put in. I saw almost immediate improvement and am still having the same benefit. My symptoms before urolift were extreme frequency and urgency. i had been on flomax for many years. That changed right after the urolift. I sleep through the night 25% now and up once a night the other 75%. I am 62 years old. Give it some time and good luck. Bob

    Good morning William

Give yourself sometime. It's only been 2 week. As the weeks move on it will get better. Getting up at night is not going away overnight.

It really depends on how long you were doing this.

I had the Urolift done over 4 1/2 years ago still wide open. Just relax. Try not to sit to long If you want to relax try a recliner. It's better for you..

Likewise I would say give it some time. I had urolift a little over 2 years ago and I'm still doing well. I did have really good flow when it was first done. Not as good now but still very acceptable. It did take me 3 or 4 weeks to recover. I get up a couple

of times a night but I'm also on some blood pressure meds and that may be partly responsible as well as the bph. i have had a couple of utis but otherwise no issues and I'm not on any meds for

    bph. Give it some time.
