Janice, Sounds like you got FLOATERS...I got them also after they did my right eye.   They were huge and very many.  I first thought I was being attacked by a swarm of wasp. My husband said, "there aren't any wasp around!" That is when I realized it was floaters.  I've had them before many time but never this many or that large.  I use to only get them when I was extremely tired.  According to the eye dr. it is common to get floaters after laser surgery (YAG).   It will diminish, but you can also let your doc know. Hope all gets well soon for you! Good luck and hope it all clears up soon for you.

Hi Charlene thank you for your reply ! I have my second yag tomorrow! I paid $6000.00 extra for ReStor lens. Had surgery in August on both eyes. Still dealing with floaters. Yes the first ones looked like baby flies flying all around . After first YAG surgery 2 weeks ago I’m

Seeing blackish strings hanging in front and around my lashes . So tired of this ??? Trying hard to be patient! I can read . I see things on tv. But went back because of seeing everything with a glare. This YAG surgery is suppose to clear all this up in time ???

golly Janice I hear ya!  Paying all this extra money and nothing is going well.  Still think those blackish stringy things are floaters. It is depressing and so frustrating, think after 7 months I would be seeing more clear by now.

I also have bad halo's and glares especially night driving, but if the sun is out it can be just as bad from the car windshield & back window and bumpers (chrome ones especially)

I know I can't go back to what I had before and redo it all,but I just wonder if I would be having all these issues if I hadn't went to the multi-focal lens.  too late damage is done, just still hoping to get it all resolved.  When ?  Not sure, but hope soon.   Hope everything improves for you soon.  Keep in touch.   I go back to my cornea specialist feb 2.

Well I will check back later.  really late here and I need to get some sleep.

The stringy things in your vision could be "floaters."  As we age the lining along the retina detach.  The small bits, stringers, globs, etc. you see is the shadow cast onto the retina from light entering the eye.  If the floaters are large enough, they can be reduced in size so they're not so noticeable or sometimes zapped by YAG laser.  YAG laser has no discomfort.  I have a noticeable floater in my left eye I call "Spec."  When the doc tried to perform YAG, he couldn't find it.   I guess it was very small.  However the shadow cast doesn't seem so small.  The doc didn't charge for his services.   So I settled with having my friend "Spec" in my left vision.

It's a posterior vitreous detachment, also known as PVD (the same thing that cause all floaters, only floaters from PVD are worse than the usual tiny floaters). Hopefully it will eventually detach fully and stop bothering you. It's also very common in people over 50, especially myopic people and people who had cataract surgery and YAG after cataract surgery.

That would be floaters janice.  Nothing serious.  As long as you dont get flashes, it will settle down.

In my case, a much more complex case, i got massive dragon floaters - yes exact word; by they disolve away in time.
