I had bilateral PE two years ago following a fall last year after stopping medication for four weeks I got bilateral PE again in riverixaban fir life now. Last week I forgot my medication fir two days and I started with the same chest pains, felt bilious and ache down left arm same symptoms as previous PE but no breathlessness , but saying that I didn't get that with my second kit of PE.
The hospital ruled out more PE by chest X-ray ECG and bloods. I still feel that this was a small clot.
So a year later from my second bilateral PE my gp is sending me to see s blood specialist. I've already had the blood tests to see if it's hereditary just wondering what they can do .

Hi Tina. How scary for you. I had bilateral PE in August. I am on Apixaban for life as they don't know what caused them. From your post I gather our blood can clot again after just a short time without medication. I had not known this. Thanks. I hope they find out what caused your latest symptoms. I will make sure I don't forget to take my medication. Good luck.. Let us know how you get on.xx

I have a friend here in Indiana who had a DVT and was on blood thinners. Recently he was rushed to hospital now he has bi lateral PEs and DVT in both legs and he didn't miss any of his thinners. That is what is scarey I can't figure why they have him in bed at him on oxygen.
Still on my thinners but now I have torn a muscle in my left chest doing some stupid lifting and am in some severe pain. Hopefully this doesn't lead to more problems.
Good luck to you!!
