Haemorrhoid lumps near anus post internal haemorrhoidectomy

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi there, I have major concern that a haemorrhoid has developed on the outside of my backside less than a week after an internal haemorrhoidectomy.

I have been majorly constipated since surgery but I have not once pushed.

I'm very worried that the extreme pain I've been in will be all in vein.

Would someone please advise on this.

Thanks

    Hi,

Exact same here. I had hemorrhoidectomy on 11th April, had 2 external removed and inside stapled I assumed. On day 2 post op I took just 1 codeine, which next day made it difficult to pass stool. I tried hard not to push too much, just tiny squeezes and twisted my body to the side to help move it down and out. I then felt a lump. I have checked and there is most definitely a lump there, however it is next to the one which was cut away, not in the same place so I now think I have given myself a brand new hem, not even 2 weeks post op. The second one which was cut away also seems to be there again, how can that be, do the staples/stitches just come out as soon as you have a BM so they just prolapse again straight away? I am kicking myself for taking the codeine and panicking now that that will be it as this was my third procedure, had banding didn't work, then HALO which did I think but I had about 5 codeine on the day of the op and then I'm convinced it all came out next day because of pushing, so finally had hemorrhoidectomy. I am terrified the surgeon will say I have got a new one so there is no point keep operating and that he can't do anything else for me. They didnt even make me a follow up appointment, when the nurse discharged me she said he didn't need to see me again, so I will have to try and call the hospital to get a follow up to get it looked at. The hospital rang me a week post op to check how I was, so I mentioned I felt something was there and the nurse didnt seem to think there would be or should be, so I fear the worst. I too feel all this has been for nothing and I think they will must look at me and think I am costing NHS too much so no more treatment. Do you have a follow up scheduled?
