There are two type of Ointments as under which are being used by me. Can any one clarify if these have steroid element in them or not:

1.Anusol Plus  ( 1.0% Pramoxine Hydrochloride and .5% Zinc Sulfate)

2. Tronolane (Pramoxine Hydrochloride)

Both creams contain topical anaesthetic, numbing agents, (Pramoxine) which help to ease pain, itching and irritation from haemorrhoids. Pramoxine is not a steroid.

Thanks for clarification. Probably, I saw a notification from some one saying that Anusol Plus has steroid element, hence should not be used for more than 7 days  at a time.

Often with OTC medications, the standard advice on the patient leaflet is only to use it for one week and if sumptoms persist for longer, see a doctor.   This is maybe what you have read.
