I had an haemorrhoids operation 3 weeks ago via Ligasure. The first 2 weeks I had a minor bloody discharge. Now I have a yellow wound secret discharge. My question is, is this a "clean" discharge or does it contain feces / stool / excrements? I am feeling disturbed.

Hi Manuel,
I had two surgeries 8 months ago and both times I had the yellow discharge starting around the 3 week mark. On both occasions it lasted a few weeks and stopped around week 7 after surgery.
If you’re interested, I’ve written a post on it on this site a few months back.
I asked two different colorectal surgeons what causes it and they couldn’t give me a definitive answer.

i had a clear discharge on the protection pads i still use i had a major haemorrhoidectomy 5 weeks ago
It was an infection. Had strong antibiotics for a week and it cleared. But the pain was bad again and clearly hindered my recovery. Get it checked out!
