Has anyone else been suffering from thinning hair? My hair was never very thick but since I have been on the blueys, it has gradually been getting thinner. I have been taking a multi-vitamin every day. Also my dentist has been giving me a hard time about plaque on my teeth which I never suffered from before. I am gradually falling apart sad

Thanks for replying Trying Hard. I was beginning to feel quite isolated. Nothing worse than posting and no-one replying to it. This forum if very important to me at the moment, I even log on to it before checking my e-mail. It's a shame we can't all meet up smile

    Hi

I don't seem to be having a problem with either, however, I had only been on the tabs for about a week last time I went to the dentist. I've got the hairdressers this week too so I can get him to check my hair.

Have you read the side affects? I might read them again but if neither are on there I would mention to your doc next time your there.

You say about meeting up. I was wondering exactly where you are as I'm in Swindon and quite regularly go back to Bristol where I originally come from

    Hi Petal

I log on as often as I can and am surprised that there is not alot more people 'talking' on here. My Internet wasn't working for a few days and I felt isolated when I couldn't log on. I agree it's not nice when nobody replies and did expect more people to reply even if to just say they haven't experienced similar side effects.

I'm fed up as it is too slippery for me to take our Puppy for a walk , I was stuck indoors for 3 days last week but went to a park at the weekend but it is too dark by the time I finish work.

Hi Guys, thanks so much for your replies. I have to see my GP early in the new year so I will ask him about my hair then. If he says anything useful, I will post it.

I am sick of the icy weather as well. Not very good on my feet when it is slippery. Hate the dark mornings and evenings as well. Really depressing time of year. At least after Christmas we can look forward to the Spring :D

    Hi Petal,

I posted a little while ago about this exact subject - i have naturally curly hair so luckily it doesn't show that much - I mentioned it to my doctor as i was having clumps of hair going out every time i washed it. My doctor seemed to think because i was eating some ready meals that i wasn't getting the proper vitamins/iron - I was already taking a multi-vitamin a night before bed - but the doc felt this may not be enough and encouraged me to eat more red meat/leafy greens etc.

That was probably 2-3 months ago - and fingers crossed it does not seem as bad. I agree that if you are tired/stressed etc that the hair is the first to suffer.

    Hope it improves soon. smile

    Hi

If you feel that a symptom is due to a side effect of a medicine that you have taken then you may wish to report it to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) via their yellow card scheme - http://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

    Hi

    G-MA desi

Glad you have started noticing your stomach shrinking It's a great feeling isn't it ?

As it's been so cold lately I've been wearing leggings and a skirt I put on a lovely elasticated skirt I wore last year and almost had an embarrassing moment when I was walking down the corridor I almost walked out of it! lol I had to quickly pull it up, luckily there was nobody around ; I found a safety pin and secured it.

I think that I feel the cold more since I have been losing weight but it's better than carrying those extra pounds. smile

Hope all this ice disappears over the weekend smile

I went to see my GP yesterday and I mentioned my thinning hair but he did not think it was due to Orlistat (said it could be my age - cheek). He said the only way to be sure was to stop taking them but I am not ready to give them up yet. The other cause could be an under-active thyroid but a blood test would be required. As I have a severe needle phobia, that is not an option. Wig shop here I come smile
