Hair going grey at 18 (Female)

I dye my hair so I have only just noticed my natural hair colour as the roots come through and most of it is grey. I'm a little bit worried because I know it's common for male teens to go grey, but I haven't heard of it happening to females. I've had anxiety and depression for many years and suffered almost daily extreme stress, could that have caused it?

Hi Ellie, I haven't heard of anxiety or stress causing hair to go grey despite the myths.

My first girlfriend reached eighteen and was suffering grey hairs then. So I suppose it is not that uncommon. She would say she was frightened to pull out the grey hair as two will appear to replace the single on.

I saw a photograph of this person in a local rag, She is now totally grey at sixty seven. We live our lives with what we have. I was always told to look at the Mother when starting to date the daughter, you can get a good idea what the daughter will look like from this

Aww honey ((hugs)) don't feel bad, I'm 35 and have more grey hair then I do brown sad I started to get many grey hairs around your age. I did not know why and I panicked over it for a while. Truth be told I still do to some extent. I only know the scientific reason that ones hair turns grey. I often wondered if stress caused it but was told that was an old wives take by my Dr. Stress can cause so many many things so perhaps it is possible but I don't know for sure.

I just accept it's the way it is for me and dye my hair to hide it.
