Hair loss, achey joints, hives

Hi! Long story short, I used to work on a cruise ship (hectic schedule) and one day I started feeling really sick. I felt achey in my lower back spine area and then my face got really itchy. It swelled up and I broke out in hives all over my body. I had a high fever. The doctors on board thought it was an allergic reaction. This went on for weeks. My contract ended and the hides subsided. I then had to get a biopsy on my cervix, and when I got home I had severe cramping, I threw up, my scalp started burning, my hair started falling out, and once again I was covered in hives. I went to an allergist who took bloods and discovered my ANA was positive. I went to a rheumatologist who tried convincing me it was allergies but tested me for autoimmune disorders. Nothing came back positive. I basically gave up and just put up with the hives. I got a new job as flight crew which I'm able to get adequate rest with, but recently I worked two red eye flights in a row and started feeling ill. I got naseuous, went to bed, woke up with hives on my face and stomach, and my scalp burning and hair falling out. I was also so achey I felt like I had run a marathon. I'm so discouraged. I can't find anything online about this. The only thing I know for sure is it happens whenever my immune system is compromised and I'm exhausted. My next plan is to go see a Lyme literate doctor as I had Lyme as a child and think maybe it recurs when I'm sick. Any input would be appreciated. If its any help, I'm female and 24 years old.

    Hi Nicole

not sure if this will help... I have sjogrens & uctd... several years back my hair started falling out, I always had extremely think hair (actually too thick) I went to the doctor, they had no reason as to why. (Not to scare) I ended up losing so much hair that I bought the hair in a can spray to fill in the bald spots.. someone turned me on to biotin & flax seed oil. I started taking 10,000 milligrams of biotin a day & 2,400 milligrams of flax seed oil. My hair grew back in nicely (Healthy, shiny & long (down to my backside) I swear by these, the thing is when taking them you need to be regular (do not miss days) & patient (it took me about 6months to get my hair doing well, but I lost so much hair) i know it may not work for everyone but it is relatively cheap & no side effects (just notify your doctor of this regiment (I had to stop the flax for a week before surgery)) it is believed that the autoimmune disease had caused my hair loss... I hope this helps, any questions I would be happy to help... take care 😊

That's amazing I'm so glad you found something that worked for you! I'm going to try it I've got nothing to lose. About how long after taking biotin and flax did you notice the change in your hair?

      Hi Nicole,

i lost almost all of my hair, it was so thin I used the spray that men use for balding to color in my scalp... I ended up cutting it real short... In about three months, from using the biotin & flax seed I noticed my hair coming in. I could feel all these little stubbles all over my head. What a great feeling. Now it is long (I almost sit on it) & thick, my hairstylist cannot believe my hair now... I really believe in biotin & flax seed... I hope it works for you. One thing is, you need to continually take it. If you stop you could lose your hair again... take care, any questions just ask...😊
