Hi Laura, sorry you're having such a tough time. It's often hard to tell hypo from hyper symptoms. Likely, you're having both.
Its typical, with thyroid removal, for the tissue to be traumatized, resulting a huge release of stray thyroxin into your system. So it's normal to get a spike in levels following surgery. This could account for some of your symptoms. In addition, keep in mind that glands often store toxins, so it's likely that when removed, any toxin buildup could also have been released, so that doesn't help either.
You're saying you're very tired. Have you checked your rT3 and antibodies? These could bind up thyroxin. Also, if your levels spiked following surgery, you could be getting a crash, as the body tries to normalize levels.
The dizziness could easily be caused by excess inflammation around the surgical area. Also, be cautious of pain meds, as they also have side effects and can make you tired
Unfortunately, the usual recommendation for post surgical problems is wait and see. Give yourself a little time to recover, as you can't expect to be dancing three days after a major surgery. Your body is very traumatized.
Sorry I don't have better news to offer.

You've just had a fairly big operation. Just the anaesthetic will knock you about for a week or two. It may have depleted all of your b12, Rest. Go and sit in some of this lovely sunshine for a while and make some vitamin D. Just because you are home doesnt mean you are recovered. Sleep when you need to, dont attempt to do anything much. I had an op in April, nothing thyroid related, but i was out for about 45 minutes, it took me a couple of weeks to begin to feel ok and after 4 weeks i went for a weeks holiday and just sat around doing nothing at all.
if you arent feeling better after a month, start to query it, but 3 days really is too short a time.
Best wishes for a good recovery.
