Hallucinations from taking amitriptyline, doctor suggesting botox instead for migraines

Posted , 3 users are following.

I began having terrifying hallucination at night after increasing my amitriptyline from 30mg to 40mg. My doctor switched me back to 30 but I am still having some hallucinations and some headaches. He has suggested botox injections as the next step. I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences with botox injections. Thank you.

I noticed one night when I had forgotten to take mine before bed that I will have very vivid/violent dreams that are very scary. On 50 mg.. I remember thinking at 2 or 3am that it was too late to take it since it is supposed to be taken before bedtime only. Haven't missed a dose since

Hello , I have heard good results of BOTOX for migraines. AMITRYPTALINE does have side effects but, nevertheless are still a very good drug but, are highly addictive.

I would try  anything if I was in your position.

I once had CLUSTER MIGRAINE which was virtually impossible to get rid of. My GP'S tried everything including hospitalisation, in the end I had injections in the back of my head to improve my health, it worked, I think it may have been BOTOX.

Thank you Jackie. I think I will go ahead with the botox injections.
