hammer toe surgery problem with nextra implant
Posted , 6 users are following.
Hi I had bunion and hammer toe surgey two weeks ago. Had my stitches out today and found out that one of the nexra implants in one of hammer toes has not aligned properly. I am really worried about this. Apparently it may correct itself in time but may not. Nothing can be done for the moment apparently. Has anyone else had any comparable experiences?

I hope you do not feel any regrest over your choice of surgeon i.e. Ortho or Pod because as you know I too am about to have surgery and on this site it seems to me complications can arise in both camps.
So I will leave the replies to all those who have had surgery and in the meantime just to say sending you a cyber hug. x

Is your surgeon the one that did Sandie Shaws bunions? Because I googled his name - seems like you went for a 'top man'. x
Emis Moderator comment: I have removed the link as users can search Google on nextra implant rather than link to a specific website.

I had my 12 week check yesterday and all is as it should be. Mr Hargrave was very happy with my progress and so am I . My feet look really good and no pain. So hopefully John would be too. Mr Hargrave is very experienced and if he says it will settle down then you should trust him. If any issues he will sort it out.
So good luck John .

I also googled your surgeon - did he do Sandie Shaw? If he did I am sure she did her research first. Keep going my friend and order yourself some special treats on-line e.g. Waitrose delivery with flowers, chocs, nice goodies for nibbles. etc. x

Will it cuase you any pain in the mean time?
Personally I can't see the relevance to Sandie Shaw.

It seems some of us find it difficult to make the final choice i.e orthopedic or podiatric. Then when we have made the choice and if there is a 'hic-cup' just maybe our thoughts can go a little haywire when you feel vulnerable.
After all it seems many of us put oursleves forward for this surgery 'voluntarily' rather than being told if you do not have this surgery, etc.
So my comment was only intended to support John - nothing else.
