Hand injury, need advice !

So 7 days ago I cut right along the side of my left thumb. Almost right along where the knuckle is. The cut was super deep. Ended up just using dermastrips to keep cut together along with gauze and tape. It’s  healed quite nicely but I noticed 2 things. Almost immediately, the day after from the cut up ( like from the cut to the closest edge of the nail ) is numb. Aswell as an excruciating pain when, weirdly enough, I straighten and extend my arm all the way. I assume I injured the palmar digital nerves. Seeing as how that’s all connected it makes sense that when extending it shoots pain. My question is does anybody know if the shooting, stinging pain will subside ? Like I said it’s been 7 days and still there very painful when (ONLY EXTENDED). I box and grapple so this is huge deal for me. I can’t put any snap on my jab because of the jolt of pain. Please somebody give me some feedback

Whenever you get severe shooting pain your body tries to compensate and protect itself.  That means you are likely to end up with other problems, maybe even months down the road, as muscles begin to tighten up as an effect of trying to avoid the pain.  Example, painful frozen shoulder 4 months after surgery for a broken radius/fibula (my problem). You should see a doctor.  It may be as simple as PT to get you back.  If you leave this to heal by itself you may end up with bigger problems.  Good luck.
