Hi  Ive been taking Sertraline for about 16 days now following a serperation, and my hands seem to shake uncontrollably.  I'm on 100mg per day.  Does thius seem normal to anyone?

I dont know if its the drug or my reaction to the seperation.

Hi Neil...I had the shaky hands thing a long time before I started Sertraline ..it was due to anxiety. I was put on Inderal (Propranalol) and I find it great..it really does stop the shakes in the hand. I'm only on very small dose of it.  Also it is safe to take with Sertraline. I am almost weaned off sertraline now (hopefully) but will staying on the propranalol!

It's the drug. My hands didn't shake but my body did! I've been off 9 months and i still get internal shakes in the morning. This drug was not for me, too many side effects. Google side effects!

This is a classic sign of an adverse reaction to this med. It is not from anxiety and and start effecting more muscle than just your hands.  Please look up the side effects on the Internet. This condition, known as Tardive Dyskonisia, can become permenant even after you stop the offending med.

    Good luck...
