I have been so good the last prob 10 weeks !!! I have really done well having half the amount of wine trhat i normally would have drunk !!! I really have done so well !!! cooking with my daughter and having one glass , then a half with lemonade etc . I made this clear also with my daughter and son and I know without them saying anything that its had a difference ! I think really that I want to be part or a group smile  Ive been so lonley and being with people that share the same probs means its ok xx

I too suffer from a love of wine and I applaud anyone who can conquer it and get it to a normal level. As for the children helping cook I often do that with my 8 year old and 2 year old and they love helping they don't need to be budding chefs they just enjoy joining in. Well done rainbow2014 keep going and stay strong! Xx

      Hi Deirdre

Thank you so much for your support . I really appriciate the kindness and understanding from people such as yourself !

I'm feeling very positive today . Its not been easy over the years , Bringing up my two children alone has been tough alongside much trauma and bearevement also . Turning to the bottle on occassions became a habit ! Life for me now is getting alot easier and its really taught me to appriciate the very little things in life . When we are able to turn bad situations around it really is wonderful and inspirational . Most importantly , to be able to come on places like this and share our experiences is amazing and very helpful .

I'm very determined to keep control of my drinking and I do wish everyone on here much luck whover they are and whatever stage they are at and most importantly what is right for them , as afterall , we are all different and have different needs and ways of acheiving them .

Lastly , being able to pick yourself up and start again , as I've done many times . I no longer feel the guilt and shame that I used to which is why I posted the happy feeling post . Nothing will drag me down smile

thank you so much again Deirdre and have a lovely day xxx

There's a group that has skype meetings and it's based on the 12 steps and Mindfulness meditation. That's if you don't want to do AA meetings, which you can join online.

I'm not drinking anything at the moment and haven't for about 3 weeks. Well done on cutting down so much! razz

      Hi Deirdre,

No need to apologise, it was just a misunderstanding which has hopefully now been resolved.

      Regards,
