Hard, bony lump behind ear

hi! i had recently noticed a hard, painless, and immovable lump behind my left ear. i went to the nurse and she made nothing about it. i was not satisfied so i finally got into my GP and he did a very good examination and he conclude it was also nothing to worry about. he said it was actaully just my bone (mastiod process maybe). i was relieved to hear that, but i still find myself worrying, esp since i only have this on one side. anyone else have lopsided bones and what not?! should i get a second opinion?!

If it worries you so much then get another opinion, otherwise if it does not heal itself within a reasonable period of time, then you could seek further medical help.

hi! thanks for your reply. i dont think it will "heal" as its either really my bone or i guess something more sinister. i guess ill just have to keep an eye on it that it isnt growing

If it is really bothering you, your doctor can probably refer you to a specialist. Maybe they can shave it down so it doesnt bug you? I have a little bone that grew attached to my bottom jaw, its so strange, dentist says its common. Kinda just got used to it
