Hard bump on both sides of scar. Any advice?

I am 4 weeks post surgery and I have a hard bump on either side of my scar, mid-way along, on both the upper and lower sides of my foot. That part of my scar has always looked more tightly pulled at the stitches, but the surgeon saw it 2 weeks ago and was happy there was no problem at that point. It is tender but not red and doesn't look infected. Taking into account both sides of the bump, it is the size of quite a big coin. Might this be the metalwork inside or could it be scar tissue building up? Or is this normal healing? I think it is possible that as the swelling has reduced, this bump has become more visible. I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.

I am now well on in my recovery and am updating, in case anybody has a similar situation. The bumps were normal healing. It was simply the bone at the bunion site, with some normal swelling. I have learned that recovery goes through many stages, and that there are many worries along the way, but most pass on without issue.

i had some hard tissue build up around the bottom of my stitches on my second toe (hammer toe correction+ shortening) & mine has gone away. i was told in PT it was scar tissue so i had multiple massage sessions to break it down and it is fine now
