Hard bumpy skin

About five weeks ago i noticed a strange lumpy bump on back. It was very hard, itchy and the skin pores could clearly been seen enlarged and swollen. It went away about three or four days later

but left like a black patch. then days later another came out again on my arm and same thing , it went away couple of days but left faint black patch. Since then i have had lots of different sizes of this hard lumpy raised bumps come out of different parts of my arm, back, neck, thigh.

About two weeks ago, my left arm started to swell up and i went to my doctor who referred me to hospital immediately. I was given some antibiotics and steroids to use for about 7 days and this cleared the lumpy bumps and also my arm got healed.

Immediately i completed the dosage of medcines i was given, i noticed the hard lump came back and has now not gone away but now it is spreading and covering a wider area on my back. About 1/4 of

my back is now affected. It seems to moving from one part of my back to the other part which is not infected. It leaves a black patch on the areas here it has been on my back and move to areas where it has not been. i have been to my doctors three times, the A& E twice and they cant

explain what it is, I have been referred to see the dermatologist but i cant get an appointment till the 5th of August. I feel by then this infection could have destroyed all my skin, or start to infect my organs. Initially i thought it was a food allergy reaction but i cant explain where this came from. I have lots of pictures and videos available. I am really scared as i dont know what this is.

Please help me.

No idea but really interested to know how you get on at dermatologists.    If this is spreading go back to your doctor who may be able to get you an urgent appointment.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying my best to get one but the health system here is so broken. I keep trying to get an earlier date, I just hope my skin is not all damaged by the time i eventually get them to see a doctor who knows what this is.

Hi - at first this sounded like melanoma, which I hope you know is very dangerous, but the spots would not go away.   You cant  wait till August.  What is the A&E?  An emergency room?     Thats where I would go but they might just send you to a dermotologist.   Did they rule out a fungus?   Where are you?   Its a sin that when they dont know what it is they dont go crazy and get more doctors to consult right away.  Are your blood tests ok?    If organs were being damaged it would probably show there.

If they gave you antibiotics that didnt get rid of it, it might be an antibiotic resistant bacteria - in which case I would think they would have admitted you to the hospital.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the Uk. and yes you are right. A & E is emergency. I have been there twice and the first time they gave me antibiotics and steroids to use for seven days and all signs of it disappeared during the dosage but as soon as i completed the dosage, it came back. I had two blood tests at the A & E and both were cleared ok.

Have you changed anything lately...types of food, washing powder, moved house, changed job etc etc.    Just wondering if its an allergic reaction to something.  Has your doc suggested  anti histamines?     I'm in UK and know its one hell of a job to see a dermatologist quickly.  If your doc had suspected anything cancerous...which I dont think it is...you would have got an appt within 2 weeks,so thats semi good news.

I have tried to look back to see if anything changed recently but i cant think of anything. i have had a lot of antibiotics, piriton but it has not helped. I am just dissapointed that so far i have see three seperate doctors and none can explain what it is or give me any medication that can help. They all just said i need to see a dermatologist.

Hi - it looks strange indeed. If they gave you antibiotics and that helped, its GOT to be an infection of some sort.   Do the doctors know its back?   Because infections can get very dangerous as you probably know.   I would raise hell until you get to see more doctors, while waiting for the dermo - or like Marina said they may get you an urgent appointment.   I would not mess around with it.
