Hard lump back of neck cervical spondylitis ?

Been feeling poorly for roughly 9 months now.

Briefly one day in July last year after a camping trip I felt as tho I was going to pass out. I had a headache at the top of my neck for about a week and then I stopped working as I began to feel dizzy/spaced out.

I was diagnosed with labyrinthitus and slowly improved over 6-7 months. However I still don't feel 'right' and I can feel a lump in the back of my neck. I am waiting for an MRI and ultrasound appointment to investigate the consultant mentioned spondylitis - could this have caused my symptoms all along??

My current symptoms are - still feel foggy/spaced out/disorientated/. Dull ache in neck & shoulders , hard neck lump, tight/stiff neck after activity, loud cracking/popping in neck when flexing left or right.

Back In July when I had the camping trip we went over a bump in the car and I banged my head hard on the ceiling - didn't really think much at the time other than that hurt a bit but it was morning after when everything began.

Did your doctor attempt to connect the head bang with your symptom onset?

No, although I have been to the doctor probably 30 times since July I have always mentioned my neck and the car incident.

It's only recently when I went to the doctor and put my foot down explained that I was NOT depressed NOT stressed and that the neck issue is something I've had from day one that I got a referral to a consultant.

Both the doctors and the consultant can feel the lump which is why the MRI and ultrasound have been ordered. The consultant seemed to think bone related and mentioned spondylitis.
