Hard lump on left temple

Hi just over a year ago I noticed a small hard imovable lump on my left temple. I had a telephone appt with the GP (weren't doing face to face due to covid) and he advised it was likely a limpoma and not to worry. I still have it a year later and it's just a little larger. It feels hard when pressing on it, about the size of a small pea, doesn't move (almost like it's attached to the bone). It's not painful and don't get any sort of sensations from it. I am 33 years old. It concerns me sometimes and I have found myself googling. Hope it's alright to post and get thoughts on this?

If its Extremely hard it may be a bony growth called an osteoma. Totally benign. Or your GP could be right, although lipomas are usually softish. You need to see your GP for a positive diagnosis...thats the only way. It sounds totally harmless whatever it is and if it gets big and very noticeable both types can be removed.

If you are in UK and its not very big it may be considered"cosmetic" and you would have to pay privately to get it removed. It all depends on the facilities at your GP practice. Some do their own removal of annoying lumps and bumps but not all.

Hi Marina thank you so much for your reply.

Went for face to face with my GP this afternoon,

He had a feel of it and confirmed it 100% is not a limpoma, due to the hardness of it and the fact it doesn't move.

He said he is confident it is nothing sinister, but he isn't actually sure what it is. He wants to give a radiologist a ring to get their thoughts and he's going to update me on this.

Relieved to hear he doesn't think it is sinister, will look forward to hearing what radiologist thinks though.

Thanks so much again for taking the time to reply! 😃
