Hard submandular gland on one side of neck under jaw

About two months ago I noticed a hard submandular gland under my right jaw. Always wake up with it being rock hard during the day it will go down slightly then at night right back hard. Also been having a dry cough, clearing of the throat and bilateral ear pain off and on. I have been to the dentist had cavities filled etc. I have no idea what is causing this it is driving me crazy. Anyone had a similar experience.

I've had multiple swollen lymph nodes for the past 7 months, all in my head/neck area. I had an ultrasound done and they were deemed "benign appearing lymph nodes", so for now I'm just continuing to keep an eye on them. I've seen my reg Dr, ENT, Dermo and an Oncologist now haha (i wanted a variety of opinions), and their best guess is they are swollen from the acne on my face, which was particularly bad this past year.

Basically what I've learned so far from all these Drs - lymph nodes usually swell from infection/illness but they can also swell from minor things like skin inflammation/irritation (ex: acne). So swollen lymph nodes come off as scary thing but it's not always a scary reason they're swollen so don't get too worried. Also, the most important thing I've learned is that size is all that really matters. Getting bigger/smaller, being hard or soft, painful or painless - none of that really matters. The only main red flag is the size, and apparently anything less than 3cm is usually considered not worrisome. If your lymph node suddenly gets to be the size of a golf ball, then you may need to be a bit more worried. But something similar to a marble/blueberry sized node is not worrisome.

I am exactly the same. Have you been tested for Glandular fever because that is what my specialist is putting it down to. Hoping in 3 months when zi hit the 12 month mark it goes but I am also in pain most days and go crazy but I have managed to learn to cope with it after 8 months of it. Ask you doctor for some Lyrica 25mg, take 2, it is a nerve relaxer but it is the thing that helps it best. Also Panadeine Forte helps when it gets really bad. Good luck huni, try and stay positive. Sending good thoughts. Xx

I have bilateral enlarged submandibular lymph nodes (20*17 R mm and 15*11 mm L), enlarged left submental lymph node(9*7 mm), and enlarged posterior cervical lymph nodes (<10mm) for the last four months. All appeared at the same time. One of the submandibular node is rock hard, another one is rubbery. I freaked out a lot. I had no apparent infection or anything. ENT, Internal Medicine, Surgery all doctors said that those were nothing to be worried about and these things swell for many reasons. I still have them. Please don't worry about them. Go see a doctor just to be sure.
