I am sorry you are going through this. This is exactly what anxiety does. It makes us think that the worst could possibly happen. and causes all sorts of sensations like the ones you are having. But breathing is an automatic function of the body and it will not stop. even when you have anxiety.

when I feel that way, I use breathing techniques that calm me down so I can feel relaxed. It’s important to breathe properly. YouTube has so many of these that you can follow. Just look for guided breathing for anxiety. Another thing I do that works every time when I’m laying down to try to sleep is listening to sleep meditations. I always fall asleep before they are done.

The reason proper breathing is important is because you need to get the correct oxygen exchange in order for your symptoms to be relieved. Also don’t fight the anxiety because it will get worse. Just acknowledge it, accept it, and move on to the breathing. I practice this during the day and at night. I hope you get some relief soon!

if there are things in your life causing anxiety, think about speaking with a counselor who can help you manage it. You can do it virtually also!
