Harm minimisation approach to quitting - what do you think?

Hi, after many failed attempts to quit I have started to figure out that Nicotine is not the issue, it is the smoking of tobacco that does the damage. I have begun to write a blog about my smoking addiction, and my failed attempts to beat it over the years.

After some serious internet research I'm convinced that nicotine, like caffeine, is a poison, but it is not the worst of what a cigarette contains.

I have switched over from cigarettes to vaping, and have found that on occasional bad days when I relapse on a cigarette it doesn't take me back all the way on to 30 smokes a day.

In the UK it seems to me that peoples attitude towards vaping is a moral one, not a health one. Ok, sure in an ideal world I wouldn't 'need' any of these solutions. But it is not an ideal world. I like many other addicts (to all manner of substances) am just another person trying to do my best. Cigarettes are an awful product! Cigarette addiction is sooo insidious - hats off to anybody who quits completely.

In the meantime ... my health has improved no end through vaping.
