Hi everyone. I have polycythemia Vera, and have been on Hydroxyurea for six years now. My Hematologist told me to drink lots, and I thought I was doing so. However, for the last two yrs, I have had muscle cramps in my legs. This yr, I stopped going for walks because of it. My doc tested me for low magnesium, but that wasn't the problem. Now, I realized that dehydration can cause muscle cramps. I just started trying to measure and drink a gallon of water each day. I am excited that this may solve the problem and if so, I can start going for walks again. If it helps me, I will feel sad that I didn't think of doing this earlier!!!
