Has anyone been misdiagnosed with IBS ......?

My 13 year old daughter has been diagnosed with IBS - I have my doubts ??She has had a colonoscopy and endoscopy - but doctors say not Crohns or Colitis - even though she has all the symptoms (except the bleeding).
Has anyone been told they have IBS and later been told it was actually Inflammatory bowel disease?

the chances are quite slim...the diagnosis of IBD be it colitis or crohns,
requires "inflammation" and if the Gastroentroloist did a colonoscopy, the diagnosis of either can be confirmed or ruled out.
Treatment differ's for IBS vs IBD.
FMT appears to be the most effective treatment for either UC, C, or Crohns. But I see some FMT trials for IBS.
If you have an interest, check for Free Trials. a few weeks ago, found one in Sweden that was yet "recruiting" for IBS...to qualify for any trial, a diagnosis must be confirmed.(reconfirmed)
In the mentime, check out berberine search as follows
berberine IBD, plos one
not your common Internet sites
it has demonstrated improvements in both colon inflammation and visceral hypersensivity.
Not expensive and can be found without prescription. If you cannot access plos one or your national institutes of health, ask your chemist/pharmacist.

"Treatment differ's for IBS vs IBD"..looks like "Conventional" was missing..i.e. Conventional treatment differ's for IBS vs IBD"....
I see a few IBS trials having been completed, but cannot find reports/outcomes. if you should find a preliminary please let us know.. . Ann

Do you and Nick have the NY FMT study that was conducted in 2013?
It appears at first glance, few and far between trials for children and IBS...FDA refuses to permit treatment unless "approved conventional treatment" has Failed...typical of so many gov agencies..keeps them from "thinking" and doing basic homework...some arrogance as well.

what were the upper endoscopy results? all clear?
Reason: often (not always) IBS can be associated with other
issues. Too often, IBS developes from one to two weeks post an infection and/or antibiotics.
You might consider giving her fermented foods (if tolerable) dairy, yogurts/kefir, miso soup, fermented cabbage. Use either or both
science daily or plos one for "lactic acids" and colon/intestinal disorders. Claudio
