I am due to have migraine surgery over in Berlin on 28 October and cannot wait! I have had a couple of botox tests which 'mimic' the results of surgery to remove the corrugator muscle in the forehead - and have had very positive results to the botox. It is expensive but I went to a renowned plastic surgeon in Harley Street having done my research and have complete faith in him. I have been a migraine sufferer for 25 years and couldn't even begin to tell you how much I have missed out on in life due to this debilitating illness and have lost count of the number of drugs I have been fobbed off with from various GPs and so called specialists that either don't work or come with horrendous side effects. The surgery is fairly radical especially in this country, unfortunately the guy I see only operates over in Berlin where he is based most of the time but I am willing to pay for this op privately along with all the extra costs of travel etc because, quite frankly, I have tried everything else and as I have responded well to the botox I see this as a chance to get my life back on track, fingers crossed. Please note however, this may not work for everyone and is not a cure all - migraines come in different forms but the guy I see knew instantly what was causing mine and luckily the botox worked - for some it doesn't. I would class my condition as quite exceptional as some months I can have migraines for up to 20 days - not pleasant and causes havoc with life/work/relationships etc. The botox injections I have had last approx 8 weeks, some people get 10-12 weeks out of a shot, and I do almost feel it wearing off and start getting migraines again. But for me - to go from 20 down to 3-4 a month is a miracle.

Have you had your surgery yet? I am considering it too and would be grateful to know how you are getting along.

Did you go ahead with your surgery in October? If so, how are you now? I am seriously thinking of going ahead, but I'm eager for as much feedback as possible. Thanks.
