has anyone else had this experience?

After taking Amlopidine for about 6 months this summer, I am left with a swelling on my Achilles tendon, which my GP considered was a side effect of Amlopidine, but for which he can offer no treatment.
This swelling causes constant aching and pain when walking.
I also had very swollen feet and ankles, which disappeared after stopping Amlopidine. However, the swelling (feels like a hard lump) on the tendon remains, two months later.
I wonder if anyone else has had this side effect, if it cleared up in the end, or whether anybody can suggest a remedy.
Best of luck to all who have suffered from this medication!

After reading about the effects people are finding I can equate to many symptoms. I am on other bp tablets but seem not to have any adverse reaction to them. I am convinced its this drug that is causing my problems. I don't have any lumps or swellings like you mention. I am going to beg my doctor to take me off these things before they kill me. I'm only 57 but very active normally. Right now I feel like an 80 year old.

I would like to stop taking both medications altogether, but I'm scared of what might happen....
I never used to worry about my \"high\" blood pressure, and never saw a doctor for years. Now I have got sucked in to the system, become a paptient, and like you am hobbling about in pain. I can see no future except things getting worse.,
I do hope someone will reply to us with some hopeful news. It is terrible that these problems have been caused by prescribed medicine, yet there seems to be little hope of them clearing up after the Amlodipine has been stopped!

I stopped taking the tablets but 2 weeks later my Achillies tendons are still sore and inhibit walking.
Does anyone know if this Archillies tendon problem subsides eventually.
