Has anyone experienced menstruation like bleeding after LSH/ SAH surgery?

Hi All,

I'm 48 and scheduled to have an LSH in April for multiple fibroids (7), the largest which is 6 cm compressing my bladder.

I had endometrial ablation in May 2016 and this resolved the very heavy bleeding.  I had Uterine Fibroid Embolisation in July 2016 but there was very little volume reduction overall so my bulky uterus/ pressure issues and urinary frequency wasn't really relieved and the largest fibroid was only reduced by millimetres and is still close to 6 cm as shown in my MRI report.

I am trying to research supracervical hysterectomies and I decided to ask the question regarding the reported complication of continued bleeding that my gynaecological surgeon warned me about as this appears to be the main complaint shown in research data.

Did anyone have continuous cyclic bleeding (menstruation like bleeding) and was it monthly or irregular and did you have pain associated with this bleeding?

I'm trying to determine between this surgery or simply change to a laparascopic myomectomy which is also an option.

    Hi,

I had my laparascopic subtotal 3 weeks ago and it was the best decision ever. No pain and very quick recovery. Havent had any bleeding but its not expected. Between hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy  the latter is definetely a better chpice unless there are other health issues like cancer..Find an experienced doctor and gof or it.

I was suffering from heavy bleeding it was controlling my life. I also had fibroids and an enlarged uterus. Good luck!
