Has anyone felt shakey/twitchy from Cit?

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been on Citalopram 20mg for over two months now. I take my dose between 9pm-10pm because that's what my doctor recommended. Tonight, an hour after I took my dose, I was playing a video game and got up. I was felt shakey and a tad jittery all over. Nothing too severe (because I have shakey hands as it is) but I've never had this problem before.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hiya, yes I felt shakey for the first few weeks and then again when I upped my dose, recently. I mostly felt it in the mornings and also remember feeling shakes the last time I started cit. it does settle down though. Eventually you should have no side affects at all  and it will all of been worth it. X

I suggest you take your dose and go to bed because, I am sure that 's why your GP suggested at that time.

Cita is not something to use to carry on doing what you have been doing so, take it just before you go to bed and it should work better.  I found this helped as while I was asleep resting Cita could carry on with the repairs.

    Try it!

    Regards,

    David

Totaly normal, I had a dose increase to 30mg little over 6 weeks ago and I have hat the shakes since, my hands get super bad. Also this time around I got super bad muscle tension. It's a roller coaster ride but every one says in the end is all worth it. I am waiting for that "it was all worth it moment" slowly I think I am getting there.

Dependent on what time you go to bed you may find taking the medication 30/45mins before you go to bed, if needs be have a small glass of milk to wash them down with

If we have been concentrating on a laptop or similar and we raise our eyes and get up quickly you may suffer dizziness, this is because when at rest your blood pressure is low, as you rise the blood pressure increases, although not fast enough so you may feel dizzy. Something similar may happen if your neck has been fixed onto the screen  as your turn your neck sometimess the nerves and arteries in your neck will starve the brain of oxygenated blood this just lasts a short period of time.

Sometimes the medication may cause dizziness, although in general it is something like above causes the dizziness
