Has anyone had a myomectomy or hysterectomy after Acessa (fibroid ablation)?

I had a 12.7cm fibroid ablated last year. One year later and it's still 12cm. I need a myomectomy. Has anyone ever gone through this before? I'm concerned about complications due to having had the Acessa procedure.

Thank you Sarah. Would you be able to tell me what pain medication your Dr. gave you and if it was strong enough? The dosage would also be helpful if you remember. I don't think that my surgeon wants to give me adequate pain medication.

the pain relief after the myomectomy was tramadol - 50mg that was the strongest. Also i had codeine, ibrofen for the swelling. manage tramadol with care, as its an opiate, highly addictive, take this at night, as a suggestion, so you can sleep and rest.

      Hi

I had a controlled pump to administer morphine to myself through the canular and oral ibrofen and paracetamol given to me including anti sickness medication.

    Hello

Yes I had UFE in 2018. Sadly the UFE made my symptoms worse and I recently had a myomectomy which went well and all fibroids were removed. I'm just waiting for the healing process and recovery. Only time will tell in terms of the periods.

Apparently, emoblisation isn't suitable for larger fibroids than 7cm.

At least they are out of my body for now.

I wish you luck with your surgery and hope that it all goes well.
