has anyone had an esophageal menometry and ph test for gerd/lpr?

hi ,

i will be having an esophageal menometry and ph test next month and would like to know the experiences with these. is it helpful? can they really find out whats going on with me with these test. they are doing it because ppi have not help my reflux and i have regurtation after every meal. these has been going on for 6months. they did an endoscopy on august an found level 1 esophagitis. any one who had reflux and what help you?

    Hi

    I had it done just over a yr ago. It carries less discomfort than endoscopy.

    Manometry gets done in clinic and you will see how yr

    muscles and spincters work. Its interesting.

    After that u get a thinner ph tube in. Ull have that inside for a day. Itll come with a recording device u need to carry with u.

    U will learn how are yr peristaltic movements, both oesophageal valves are and also if acid escapes and when.

    Endiscopy showed what yr digestive tract looks like now.

    Now they are trying to determin the culprit.
