HAS ANYONE HAD AN IRON INFUSION?

HAVE TO HAVE ONE. I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF GOING BACK INTO HOSPITAL, WHERE I HAD A COLONOSTOMY WITHOUT SEDATION.AND IT REALLY HURT ME.I'LL MAKE MYSELF ILL WITH WORRY BEFORE I GET THERE.HOPE YOU WILL HELP ME.,

    I haven't had a n iron infusion, but it may be something ill require soon as presently my white blood count is on the floor and my bloods are being checked for iron too. Just had test today so waiting now.

    I'm hoping it won't be as bad as a colonoscopy! All the best. X

      Thanks nita i asked could I go on pills and I've only took 3 and been up all night feeling sick, had no sleep . So they must'nt suit me. What will the infusion do.x

    Hi Barbara, I've had a iron infusion and it's nothing to worry about honestly. U just have a cannula put into ur arm and then they set u up to a drip. Hope this helps xx

      Thanks kate I looked on YouTube and some said it takes hours and you feel dizzy faint .heart beating fast and some said they had to go back about 5 times.they never told me that.

      That's true I took a newspaper but ended up talking to the nurses instead so time flew by ☺x

    Yes I relaxed and they made me a cup of tea, they had the blood pressure thing on my arm all the time x

    Everyone reacts different but I didn't get any side effects x

      Some said they were there from 1o clock till 5. Didn't think it took that long.

    They said to me that it would take between 2-4 hours but I was in for about 2 and a half hours x
