lexapro is known to work faster for some and not for others it's all trial and error. your doc might have seen people get better faster on it but it's not the same for everyone.

the reason your depression isn't lifting is because you are switching meds and doses way too often and not giving it long enough to work. the majority of people are still feeling terrible in your time frame feeling worse before better.

you need to stick to a dose for atleast 8-12 weeks and at 12 weeks if there is room for improvements then consider increasing but not before really as it can take a ling time for the meds to work even though the docs say 2-4 weeks. for some people yes. for others they still feel terrible at 4 weeks.

you've only been on the dose you are on for 3 weeks so start counting from their. since swapping doses and to lexapro any time frame before your latest dose becomes irrelevant so to speak x you will get better it needs consistency and patience x

I've just seen you have increased to 40mg. personally I would stick to 20mg longer so you have some room to increase in future if you need too hope that helps x
