Has anyone had Microsurgical Denervation to help with chronic testicle pain?
Seems like a better solution than removing the testicle but has potential issues given the nerves are tightly integrated with muscle, blood vessels and tissue.

Hi all, I have a chronic pain in my left testicle that started after a hydrocele surgery I did many years ago, and I'm checking out also about this surgery. I see that some doctors do it roboticly and some do it manually, for your knowledge what is the best option ?

Hi all, I'm from Israel and look for a recommendation from a personal experience for a doctor who perform testicle denervation surgery in the US. The names of the doctors I have are Dr Levin, Dr Parekatill, Dr Fenig, Dr Patel. Thanks Yossi

Shalom Yossi!
Dr. Jason Kovac at Indiana University Uorlogy invented the MDSC procedure! You can google him and get his email address. He is very good at responding to emails as well as telephone calls. So check him out. Shalom Alechem . Howard

Hello again Yossi - I forgot to mention that as you are in Israel you should contact Dr. Gat in Jerusalem. He and Dr. Goren are fertility doctors who pioneered a new procedure for embolizing varicoceles. Since varicoceles are a primary cause of scrotal pain it might be worth speaking with Dr. Gat. He is an IR who invented the coil-free procedure for sealing the spermatic veins that cause varicoceles. He is also a professor at the Weizmann Institute.

I was contacted privately via this site by a young man who had travelled to America for the denervation surgery .He said he would let me know how he recovered but havent heard any more from him .

HI Pauline:
It is a mixed bag. The bottom line is I am glad I did it, as it reduced a lot of my pain. Based on the cord block test (lasted 2.5 days without pain), it should have relieved all my pain. My Dr was shocked that it did not.
I believe that I still have another problem, The Dr. thinks that it is one of the following:
I sure hope this works out for you and your son. If he passes the cord block test (don't do the operation without passing this), there is an 88% chance that the operation will work for him. I think I just had extenuating circumstances. You may also try a couple of Ativan pills a day to see if that helps. It knocks my pain right out. The Dr thinks this is because it relaxes muscles and may apply to #2 and 3 above.
Good Luck, I know how painful and discouraging this is, but have faith.
Bob

Thank you. I feel like we have no option the NHS offer nothing and our GP seems to have lost sympathy. She refers us back to the pain management team who feel he needs to learn stratagies to live with pain .Hes 16 !
He wanted me to book the appointment but now he's not sure and getting angry again .It's difficult .

When you see the doctors please remember to ask them if they can do a spermatic cord block using Botox!! I've had 2. Each works for 6 months and reduces the pain a lot. Don't forget to ask them about Botox. It is considered experimental but all the men I know who have had it have all done well with no side effects at all.

Pauline - A big cause of scrotal pain among adolescent boys is due to masturbation. I don't know if this is relevant for your son but just wanted to mention it to you.

hello, i would like to know something about the testicular denervation process.
i had surgery like 2 months ago due to a constant testicular pain for more than 1 and a half year.
it was supposed to be a testicular denervation surgery but after the surgery i was told that they didn't cut any nerves but they performed more of a neurolysis cause they couldn't find any damaged nerve.
still after almost 2 months i feel pain as before. i have no way to talk to my doctor soon for the moment but i wanted to ask you if somebody knows if in a standard MDSC the nerve should be cut or not?
cause in that case i would ask to redo the surgery and let them cut the nerve. maybe that would help.
i haven't lost any sensitivity and from what i read online i should have lost a bit after surgery. so that's kinda confusing.
can somebody please tell me.
thanks a lot!

If you send me your email in a private message I will send you an article by Dr. Kovac who invented the procedure. The article shows how he does the MDSC procedure and what to expect in the recovery.
