Finally considering bunion surgery and daughter sent info on a new correction process call Lapiplasty 3D (FDA approved in 2015) and wondered if anyone has had it.

i know of people and i had a consult as well.

i decided on the orthopedic surgeon at the end.

by looking at the results from laser , it didnt meet my expectations esthetically.

in CANADA it is $5000 per foot and i was told that i had to wear orthotics ALWAYS.

To me it looks like a good solution but I don't think they do it in Australia. I had the minimally invasive bunion surgery and so far I'm happy with it (3 months PO).

I had it on June 21, 2019 so I am almost 5 weeks in. So far things have gone really well. There was some pain the first few days, but I managed it by taking my meds as prescribed and it wasn't a big deal. It took longer than I wanted to get the walking boot, I just got it Monday. The surgeon did both sides of my foot, though, so is being overly cautious. The hardest thing for me, that I wasn't well prepared for, was not being able to put any weight at all until I got the boot.
