I have osteoarthritis in both basal thumb joints, dupuytren's contracture in both hands plus carpal tunnel in both hands, my surgeon wants to combine the three ops on each hand in one go, has anyone had the three problems together? thankyou.

i haven't had triple surgery but I did have a Dupuytrens op with a skin graft into the lower section of the finger. (need another finger doing now but have no lumps in hand and only a small one in finger despite the angle being 45 deg). When the original Dupu was bad and i saw the surgeon I told him that i had read that taking Glucosamine can make it worse as what is supposed to help the joints was building up in the wrong place. He hadn't heard of this but however I did stop taking Glucosamine. 3 months later at the op the surgeon was amazed at how much smaller and softer the lumps were. Mostly the glucosamine was with Chondroitin. I am not saying it causes Dupuytrens ( which in my case was probably due to viking DNA) but it may be helpful for others to know about this.
