Has anyone returned to normal after being hit with Invega Sustenna?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I was force injected a loading dose of 234mg , and a week later, 156mg. I am not psychotic and not symptomatic, in general, to anything other than the horrific side effects of Invega Sustenna.

I've yet to hear of any success recovering from the drug. What posts I do see cease, which leads me to wonder if the individual commited suicide or went on living a fully recovered healthy happy life. I do believe that the later is far more likely but I still wonder.

I have been completely transformed by Invega Sustenna and with only 6 weeks off I only hope and pray that with time I will come back around full circle front and center.

Please enlighten me.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience.  The same thing happened to my adult son 2 years ago except that he only had the initial 234mg shot - not the follow-up shot (luckily).  We were able to convince a judge to allow our son to be released from the hospital after 3 days.   The injection did long term damage to his emotional well-being.  He told me that if he didn't feel better in a year he would kill himself.  We lived with him for 6 months until he was past the worst of the side effects.  He was absolutley miserable every day.  It left him a shell of a person - no feeling - no joy - no ambition and no hope.  We continued to encourage and support him every day.  He very gradually got better.  It will take a long time to recover.  But don't give up hope.

Take good care of yourself.  Eat a good healthy diet with plenty of fresh vegetables, greens, fruit and protein.  Make certain that you get sunshine and exercise every day (also extremely important).  Make sure you have sufficient omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil), and vitamin D3.   Force yourself to go out if you have to.  Make "deals" with yourself or whatever it takes to get out.  Perhaps you can enlist the help of a buddy.  It's very important for your recovery.

Your brain will recover.  Unfortunately, the Invega Sustenna is a fat soluble substance that will continue to stay in your body for many months.  Don't allow yourself to sit at home and put on weight.  Your fat cells may store some of the medication and extend your recovery period.

Don't give up.  Lots of people have been in your shoes and recovered.  You will too.

    Best wishes!

      Hi,

That was so thoughtful. Thank you.

I know that posting was really outdated. Is your son completely back to normal and healthy as an ox?
