Has anyone seen geometric designs ?

I have dealt with vertigo and dizziness for 4 months now. 2 weeks ago I had a spell where I saw rainbow geometric designs in my periphial vision. It lasted about 20 mins. Scared me. I have pains in my head also. Any body else had this? My sister had it a week ago and they found out she had a stroke.

It sounds like a migraine aura. It caused my vestibular damage which left me with balance and vision problems. I am getting better with vestibular exercises but it can still recur. Prevent migraine through identifying triggers such as certain foods, certain strong smells, stress or through medication .

Thanks for the reply. Did you have the Geometric designs in your periphial vision?

Yes and if I closed either eye they were still there. It lasted twenty minutes. I have had them occasionally for several years but they had never made me unbalanced before. You could be referred to a neurologist by your GP. It does seem like migraine aura without headache. I never had headache but felt very tired. Also lost central vision for the length of time it took to ease.

If you're worried, I'd go to ER to be safe and ease your mind. But it honestly sounds like a migraine aura.

Yes, they are migraine auras, occurs with the aging process as well with no pain. I get both with and without pain. Hope you're better now.
