I was referred to Prof Green but saw a different consultant. He agreed to give me 4 wks IV ceftriaxone despite having neg NHS tests. Just on 4th week. Have to attend weekly for bloods, dressing change and see doc otherwise self administer. The staff are lovely, first 2 weeks felt much better but some symptoms recurred. Good luck 😀

thanks for your reply, you were so lucky to get treatment after a negative test result. my GP was reluctant to refer me even after a positive result because it was only a result of co-infection on the extended lymes panel. how did you argue your case ? i realy dont want to be fobbed off its taken 3 years of terrible disabling symptoms to get to this point and ive come accross some awfull ignorant doctors

I argued my neg result could br due to antibiotics given early on and also to the long term steroids I was prescribed. Guidelines say can treat on clinical presentation. Have had barrage of tests over last 3 years and malignancy and autoimmune disease excluded. Also the fact that I became ill after holiday in Scottish Highlands, did have a bite and rash but no tick embedded. Have history of tick bites previously but no symptoms.

have seen 2 different consultants who were very nice but not met Prof so can't comment on him. Good luck.
