Has anyone switched from Nortriptyline to Amitriptyline?

My success with Nortriptyline was short lived and I've had to stop taking it for a couple of days as I suspect the dosage was too high and I started feeling very unwell. Second day completely off today and I feel a lot better. Amazingly no withdrawal symptoms so far.

I had a follow up with my psychiatrist today to see if I can do a straight switch to Amitriptyline as I'm having trouble sleeping and the Nortriptyline doesn't seem to agree with me. He said yes no need to cross taper, just switch from one to the other straight away.

Has anyone done this and did they have any problems? I was on 100mg of Nortriptyline and I'm thinking of taking it really slowly when I switch as I don't want to have the same thing happening.
