Hi! I take 180 mg magnesium twice a day. I also take zinc, fish oil, vit D and B12. I've done a lot of research and the new research is showing that the supplements can actually be more beneficial than the meds. A deficiency in any of these supplements can cause anxiety, trembles, heart flutters, light headedness and nausea among other symptoms. That does not mean you should stop your meds. but maybe one day be able to cut back. Check out

"Vital Mind Psychology" on You Tube. He has a series of 4 videos with reference to magnesium and how to manage anxiety. They are easy to follow and are very informative. Good luck!

Hi Jess, magnesium is a great support for anxiety and panics. But it’s really helpful to also understand what is triggering these. I’ve suffered for the past year with increasing anxiety and panics, and stress has been the main trigger. I also had a recent medical reaction and that triggered horrible anxiety and panics. Some helpful tips are the 5,4,3,2,1 refocus game. So when you start to feel anxious and how you are physically feeling, you need to turn your mind to something else - so Jane 5 things out loud you can see that are red, 4 things you can see, 3 farm animals, 2 things you can feel, and 1 thing you can smell. This gets your mind off how you are feeling and onto something more productive, there’s also a great phone app called ‘calm’ you don’t have to subscribe to access some of the music, anxiety support sessions and sleep stories - all great options! So magnesium supplements are definitely not going to hurt taking - best with food, also bananas are amazing, I have one ripe banana 30 minutes before bed and the tryptophan and magnesium help you relax, almonds are also great. Rescue remedy has helped, but only for mild symptoms. It might be helpful to look at counselling, psychologist or mindfulness coach, all great options to help you with a plan to curb the anxiety and panics. The number 1 thing to remember is that you are safe, anxiety can’t hurt you, and that you will be anxiety free! Take time to relax to yourself, go for walks in the fresh air, you don’t need to run a marathon, just 30 minutes of walking at your own pace (relaxing music can help for walks to keep your mind at ease). Sending positive thoughts your way. Take each day as it comes, celebrate the small wins, and the more room you make for positive to grow, the less room for anxiety. You aren’t alone, and there’s a whole load of people here who know exactly what you are going through and know you will get through this stronger than ever!
