Has anyone taken Metformin and if so did it help or worsen your LS ?

My doctor wants me to try Metformin to help with ovarian sis. She said it might also help lower inflammation in my body and she hoped that it might help with LS symptoms. when I read the side effects said said it can cause some skin rashes. So I’m a little nervous to start it. I was just curious if anyone has taken it and what their experience was please and thank you.
